Accidently got locked in the USS Salem, then had a blast exploring the rest of the ship.

It was in September, we saw their silhouettes fade away, outlined on the horizon against the rays of the setting sun.

I recently went to a former hospital where there is almost everything and the abandonment is fairly recent. It is a residence on several floors. When going up to the first floor, we had to go through a door. I was with 3 friends, so we were 4 in total. We opened and passed through the door to get to the first floor, but to the second floor. I go first and my friends follow me, but nobody holds the door. So, we stayed locked. It was a retirement residence for semi-autonomous people. This system was probably designed to prevent residents from leaving the residence without permission. We were able to go down through a door that was not locked, but we left not long after because there was still a person in the group who panicked.

I got locked inside of a toilet factory once.
I ended up spending the night there (technically it was my car that got locked inside).

Okay, two quick stories, same place.

Context:
There was this section of my university, and had been abandoned for 19 years, as evidence suggested. During previous exploration I found out a set of forgotten floppy disks lying in an office, of the abandoned secretary section. Now, my Moto regarding urbex is “take nothing that will be missed leave nothing but footprints”, So saving those beautiful pieces of vintage technology, from slowly decaying into in existence was an honourable mission

Edit: I took 6 floppies while leaving some 40-50 for future generations to see

Story 1:
One evening, like all others, I decided to go for the floppy rescue mission. I retrieved the discs, enjoyed the scenery and returned to the door, only to find it locked. A chill run through my spine, as I run from door to door, hoping that at least one of the multiple entrances were still open, fearing that the alarm would be set soon. Having no luck with the doors, I remember the existence of quite a few discreetly placed windows in the building. Once again, I sprinted from one to the other, finding out that they were welded in place. Finally, I got a break, found an open one And squeezed myself through the one by one foot opening. Having escaped both the building and a confrontation with the guards, and possibly the dean of the uni, I allowed myself to enjoy relief in all of its majesty, floppies at hand.

Story 2:
Approximately one year later, I decided to cross off one item from my bucket list, that being camping within the uni. I grabbed a camping mattress, a couple of blankets and my guitar and head towards the roof, where I would spend the night. The plan was to stay unobserved on the rooftop, while the building was locked and unlocked again, the next morning.
The funny thing is that I got a call from a friend of mine during the night. The alarm went off (the warning phase of “you have 20 seconds to enter the code or I’m gonna scream at the top of my lungs”, not the actual actual alarm) once I picked up the call and ceased once I hung up. Thankfully, no guards came around to check the situation.
To this day, I have zero clue, whether that was a demonic coincidence, or if the call somehow activated the alarm.

Btw, if any of you have any clue on how the alarm thing happened (2nd story), you are more that welcome to speak your mind
