Abandoned Nursery

Driven by this place too many times to count so I finally decided to check it out. Took me a couple attempts to get in as it is surrounded by a supermarket parking lot and major roadways. It hadn't been hit at all by graffiti "artists" and had only been broken down by time, the elements and a few other visitors. This was surprising because from what I can tell the place has been out of business for close to 20 years.

Will certainly be back as I left the main building unexplored due to it having too much standing water at the entrance for my footwear as well as it looking like there might be a possible squatting resident. Fun to find a gem (by Seattle area standards) so close to me.

sweet pics, had no idea we had that place around here. bet it would be a fun location to do some HDR inside. Like the tree growing on the inside of the building in no. 2. Would love to see more of them

number 4 is pretty good too. Love the depth of field in number 8

Really nice! I first thought you meant a baby nursery/day care, hahaha.

Nice find Seahawk! I've also never seen this spot before. Pretty neat, especially considering that it's in such a busy area. I look forward to seeing your shots of the inside!

Your description of the place makes me think of Tukwila Pond Park, just south of the Southcenter Mall. By that, I don't mean to say that it has abandonments or that your location is the park, but it is a nature area that is almost completely hemmed in by very busy roads and huge shopping complexes.

There's gotta be other spots like this scattered around here, we just have to find them. Nice work!

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... Tunnelrunner33!

#7 fascinates me; what would have lights like that yet be so small? You have a good appreciation of the little things and a sharp focus.

Haha. I had the same thought when I first titled it, that would have been creepy.

It looked like a smaller tractor with a bucket loader on the front.

Great Job, we need to do more scouting for locations around here, I have been trying to do so when I have time but have been pretty busy lately. Good find!

Had to go back for round two and from what I found I could have spent all day there. Went in the first building that was too wet for my footwear on the first trip. There was also 2 more buildings on the property that I didn't see the first trip.

Neat site!

I wonder what's in those jars. Looks a bit like pickled garlic in one of them, but I doubt that's what it actually is. I think a taste test is called for.

TunnelRunner33 and I visited this nursery. It seemed to have potential, but it was enveloped in a blackberry vine jungle that we could hardly penetrate. The vines had even invaded the greenhouse we entered. The footing was bad, and we were careful not to bump or jostle anything lest it bring panes of glass down on us.

As we were coming out, TR saw a suit, who might have had a proper relationship to the property. They exchanged waves and shrugs.

We looked in the storage building; but I wasn't enjoying it enough to bother setting up my tripod. Now that I've seen Seahawk's shots, I wish I had.

This could be a great place to pick berries in September.

I did some digging. I foresee Something coming soon. . Explore while we can.
That land suddenly quadrupled in value in 2013 and the property tax is around $80,000 a year and it's staying current.
