Rookie user/Posted photos from abandoned hotel

Hello everyone! My name is Leksi.. Man, three days is a long time to wait to post stuff, I actually forgot about it for a few days. But here I am!
The photos below are from an abandoned hotel in Portland, OR that is "demolished". It burned down a few years ago. These photos are like 5 years old.
Proof of demolishment:

Any questions about location, specific pictures, etc are welcome.. Let me know if I'm doing anything wrong, I'm kind of bad at forum-stuff.

Some pictures won't make sense to you, but I'm a quirky person. If I see something that makes me laugh, I'll take a picture of it (like a pad laying on the floor of an old hair salon).

Youre off to a good start. Your photography will improve just by virtue of hanging around UER and looking at what can be shown and how it can be shown. That's what photos are to me. Show the feeling of the place show the excitement of the trip. Im pleased that you got a lonely chair shot in your first photo thread

Too many photos in one thread can detract from the overall effectiveness.

That's an awesome location by the way.

Good luck.

It actually used to be 10 days back in the day. The purpose is to encourage new members to "lurk" on the forums for a few days before they jump in and start posting stuff. That way they have some idea of how things work here before they start posting.

I'll second this. Not that you don't have a great location or story to convey. Sometimes brevity and selection convey a tale better. But keep up the good work. You'll get better with each exploration. I honestly just learned how to properly use my camera. Thanks for sharing though and welcome to the community!

Wasn't there a surviving wing, or an adjacent section which was not completely destroyed? I could swear when we drove past there this past Thanksgiving, there was a section still standing with construction fences around it. Or is even that small remnant gone now?

Yeah, that is still there. But monitored by security cameras that are hooked up to the Red Lion nearby (believe me, I know). The cameras are under the bridge and have a straight shot to that last wing. I haven't even gone to check it out after my last bout, and honestly it doesn't appeal to me as much with everything else gone. I suppose in a way, my interest died when the fire did.

I actually found the post that was the how-to on posting pictures and explorations on here... about 20 minutes AFTER I posted this thread. But I was at work and couldn't go back and switch everything around. *shakes fist at sky* But I'm just going to repost it in the location forum it belongs in.

Too many photos in one thread can detract from the overall effectiveness.

1) Those chairs were very creepy. You'd open a door to a room, BOOM, there is a lonely chair facing you. Turn the corner in a long hallway, BOOM, you almost trip over a chair. But they were intriguing, hence so many pictures of them.
2) I'm pretty sure the camera I was using was a broken one that refused to focus unless it flashed. So that's why the quality if kind of bad. As for the number, I will probably just post a few pictures to pique people's interest, and then link to an actual of photos on a third-party, if that's not against any guidelines.
