Hey me and a friend (think) we've managed to find the entrance location to the old ammo lift bunker in the park on our own (which really is half the fun). However, knowing the past history of homelessness in that park and the van. area in general Im hesitant to go in before asking how safe it is. The last thing i want is for use to get in there and find out a few people have taken up residence and we have no quick escape if things turn bad. Soo for anyone who has done that location. Have you encountered any vagrants or anything before? I know all the standers dangers like air quality, horrible infections, ect. Its the just human factor that has me leery.

Dont break the bolts, they are very rusty. Keep someone topside, both to act as a safety if you need rescue and to keep anyone from falling in. Odd are the lower floor will be flooded.

A gas monitor isnt a bad idea. You can rent them. About 70$ for a multi-gas monitor. Not cheap for say, but how much do you value you life at?

Thanks for the info that could be very useful indeed, I will be sure to be ready for the rusted bolts (maybe oil em for the next guy) and if possible at the very least bring sensor buttons for CO, Natural gas and some others (I do have training in using them).

There are now security screws. Hex head with a security pin. Here is a photo of them with coins for scale. As for homeless people, taking up residence in there, highly unlikely and not too practical. Have fun

Drill a hole in a fat hex bit. Or drill the pin out.
When there is tranquility, you are in the right place. When there are no footprints, you are on the right path. When there are no tire tracks, you are on the right road. |

Time to go shopping at Acklands Grainger for a speciality socket
