Not sure how I missed this post, the PNW board runs so slowly. I'm also not sure what this location is, but it definitely looks interesting. I've only gone down to the south sound area once, and it got a little hairy. Maybe I'll return later in the spring or summer. Thanks for sharing!

It always amazes me how tall they used to make the ceilings in these old buildings. No real purpose for it I guess that was just the architectural style at the time. Sure is a stark contrast from the mid-century drop ceiling that seems to be commonplace today.

Part of the reason is today we have far more utilities and equipment in buildings. Back then they really just had lighting and radiators. Now we have Air conditioning and forced air, data cabling, electrical, sewage, water, gas, etc... The ceilings in commercial buildings are still as high as they were. However now we hide everything under the drop ceilings.
