Homesteads and farm houses in West TX.

I've been on this forum for quite some time and just recently got back into posting here again.
Used to live in SoCal, but for now I've been in the eastern NM region for a little over two years.
Oddly enough, I'm pretty much straddling the Four Corners and "South" regions on the map here.

Any ways I drive milk tanker trucks into Muleshoe, Hereford, and Dalhart on a nightly basis.
Going along some of the farm roads, I'll notice quite a few abandoned houses.

Some that were vacated recently and are awaiting new tenants.
Then there's some that are still intact, but have obviously been sitting neglected for quite some time.

Has anyone ever come across these and some further off the beaten path(plenty of dirt roads on the way out to the dairies that might have some of them)?
Ever find anything interesting? Creepy?

Been wanting to either plan a bicycle or drive out in my personal pickup to make it into a day-off activity.
Possibly when the snow in the area finally quiets down for awhile.

I also take frequent drives down farm roads and have noticed the same phenomenon. It takes every ounce of restraint I can muster to keep from veering off the road and having a little look-see. And usually my car does veer somewhat--as I'm craning my neck to get a better look while speeding along the narrow road. I usually make a mental note of the location and then research it online later. By now my head is filled with such notes. I too intend to someday devote an entire day to finally checking out some of these places in further depth.

In fact, I have done so here in my hometown. I'm working on a proper database entry now, but here are the archived forum threads from two farm house explorations I've done:

Here's a thread from 2007, with a house that is less than 100 yards from the main drag. My daughter and I could have taken pictures there all day - none of the cars passing by at 80+mph would have noticed.

I wish I'd gotten better pictures of the bird poop stalagmites.

Some nice shots on both of those trips.
I wonder if anything ever became of that lifted pickup.
Be nice to acquire and fix it up into a camper-mobile-thingy!!

Thank you much. Nope, truck is still there--I pass by it almost daily. ;)

Made a little trip out to Glenrio on the TX/NM stateline.

Quite a few buildings left around, and I think one occupant in a house behind the gas station.
It can be barely noticed off the 40.
