This was ...actually our third and final abandonment stop on the camping trip the first weekend of this month, but the second one I am posting so nnnyyrr. Not too many shots of this one. I would have loved to have gotten inside of this one more, but the floors were JUST on the other side of dodgier than I wanted to risk, especially with a deep, intact basement to fall into and break my leg. There was a nice big patch of holes rotted out underneath the window it would have been easiest to climb in, and that just... struck me as the kind hand of fate intervening with a suggestion. It was a lovely spot though, and when this thing was in tact she had a commanding view of the landscape, beautiful hills and fields in all directions. I'm pretty sure this was in an area we called the Iowa Plateau (though I'm hazy on precisely where we were in the state at this point, we covered a lot of ground). We came up through much hillier hills and forestier forests and then suddenly the road leveled out and... we were in Iowa. I mean we weren't actually IN Iowa yet, we were still hours north of the border, but it was a very abrupt change in landscape for a period. Anyway. House time.
The House on the Hill by incommune, on Flickr Foolin' around with black and white pictures. Took a couple on this trip. Really, no idea what I'm doing there so. Yeah. Gonna do some more reading and looking and stuff.

good shots!
When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.
You got some really great shots! It's a simple yet interesting house.
thanks for giving it a try
As a Slayer fan, when I look at that house I can only hear the words from the song, "Dead Skin Mask" : "Hello, Mr. Gein!" ;)
