1. My wife found this place on our way back from a desert hike. She thought it would be a good place to let me run around while she sat in the car and did homework. Hah! She was all over the place. "Come over here! Take a picture of this!"

I quite like this side of the house. It has a happy face.

2. Not so happy inside. Some attempt was made to move the appliances; maybe it was scrappers trying to get at the wires and pipes? But I didn't see the typical breakage; so maybe somebody started to gather them to move and was interrupted.

3. This "Emergency Preparedness" manual looks so staged. But that's where we found it.

4. The real gem on the property was the leaning, rather skeletal barn. With the sunset came a gusty wind; the tin roof flapped and clattered mournfully.

5. High on the west wall, a large, empty nest. "Barn owl," a birding friend guessed when we described it. "They only use them when they have chicks."

6. A hand-cranked contraption with a screen and paddles. What is it?

7.

8. Garage. There was a lot of stuff in the house and several outbuildings, but little of interest--just rubbish. I think it's original rubbish; the neighbors have been bringing old tires to the farm, but they just leave them outside.

9. Lovely.

Nice find man! I also like the fact that your wife became interested in exploring the site as well.

If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find him, maybe you can hire... Tunnelrunner33!

This is a lovely spot! Been here twice, myself and depending on the weather you can get some beautiful shots, as you did. Wonderful!
