Telescope Factory

Built in 1880, this former telescope factory is now one of the more popular exploring locations in Cleveland. It closed in 1985 and the building was purchased by the city in 1991. At least one attempt has been made at renovating the building and on the first floor, you can see the very beginnings of a project that was barely started before it stopped. The main building is five stories with a one-story factory with a saw-tooth roof attached in the rear. I explored this building back in March on the way home from getting fitted for my work uniform. It was a cloudy, drizzly, cold day and my camera was acting up a little but I wanted to make sure I got to see it just in case they actually do get around to renovating it one of these days.
1. It took me a while to get this picture without any cars in it.

2. Some of the stairwells have been partially deconstructed, I guess to keep people from going upstairs.

That's pretty cool. I've been wanting to check that place out for awhile.

Yep! Been there twice. Shame they're starting to demolish it. I'm thinking about heading up there next week for one last visit before it's gone.

Shoot me a PM. I do a lot of Cleveland exploring and I'm usually by myself. Might be nice to go with somebody for a change.

Damn this stuff is making me want to vacation in Ohio. So much urban decay in the style I love!

I don't know. I haven't planned that far ahead. But a road trip might be doable!
