Wisconsinnnnn (j'accuse!!)

... I don't actually accuse you of anything. But I am going to be up there, in early October, on a camping trip with my partner. Really up in all or most of it, since our first day destination is up in the extreme northerly bits (Bayfield area) (applefest :>), and then we're going to take a couple days to just... putz around doing whatever we want. So as I figure out where we might be meandering beyond applefest and the barrens, anyone interested in hanging out? Havin' a coffee? Sayin' hello? I know there are some UERers up there and like... we're all from the Midwest. I feel like if we're in the neighborhood we say hi, right? Maybe there should be waving involved? We do a lot of waving in my state.

I'm not in Wisconsin and I'm unlikely to be anywhere near Bayfield at that time, but if the aren't any Wisconsin folks who are able to meet up with you while you're around, you almost definitely want to cross the border into the UP of Michigan and spend some time in Copper Country. In particular, there are a lot of former mining remnants in the Keweenaw (many low-key, but with some options for risky stuff if you prefer) and by early October, hopefully most of the flies will be dead so you won't be eaten alive as much as my friend and I were when in the area recently.

Thanks for the recs dude!! I think my SO and I can both afford to take a few days at that point, so we should have plenty of putzy power and - other than applefest, my god I am going to eat so many apple turnovers, I guess any exploration pends whether or not I can be ROLLED INTO THE LOCATION - the time is wide open. I'm definitely into low-key, tbh. I currently enjoy the risky adventures from the comfort of my own home and this website ;) Still learning about all this and all.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Wisconsin. There are plenty of active explorers in the area and I hope you can connect with one of them.

Appleton might not way out of the route on the way back and I've got another good friend in your town, so if we end up that far east I'll send up a flare.
