This will be my first set posted on here. I'm still very much a beginner with photography. Some of these I like and others could definitely be improved. I noticed I'm getting a good deal of "noise" in my shots. I've been shooting in JPEG, that may be my problem. Last weekend I decided to check out an abandoned Loran listening station in the next county. It was fun but I didn't find anything too exciting. I was worried about trespassing on gov't property but nothing happened. I pulled up on my bike, parked next to a few government vehicles and strolled around to a back trail. Acting like I was supposed to be there worked this time! Unfortunately both buildings were locked so I had to knock around outside. There were a lot of neat warning signs. Any constructive criticism regarding the photography would be greatly appreciated. Some of the composition is not what I thought it would be but I want to get it right in the camera before I make a habit of trying to fix all my stuff in post.

Awesome first post. I love the sky on days like that. Welcome to the southeast.

Thanks! I forgot to mention I was using a polarized filter. I got the blue to come out a bit more with some of those shots.

Quiche Loran!

Noise can be fixed with lower ISO or post-pro.. Word of advice, this site isn't as abandoned as you think... Just be careful if you go back here.
Damn the man, save the empire! |

Are the electronics all still there, or is that part locked up?

Everything was locked. It wasn't very exciting because of that. I know it's not completely abandoned but the Loran site itself seems to be. Since there's so much hiking in that area I was ready to nonchalantly explain that I was hiking and found it. There were a few cameras, not sure if they're still operable though.

Thanks for posting. Neat to see all those signs.
