Paid a visit to my favorite Washington ghost town -- up by Stampede Pass -- today. It was HOTTTT! Thankfully, there was a nice breeze and I'd brought plenty of water. There was one other car parked at the roadblock, but I never saw anybody else -- had the whole place to myself!
The water under the old rail bridge was as blue and inviting as ever. On the walk back, I almost took a dip (I've done it before):
Not much new to report from in town. The house by the tracks was as infested with birds and rats as ever. Standing on the doorstep, I could hear them inside the walls!
I am told that this one used to be the post office:
I'm sure a vintage car aficionado would have at least a few good guesses as to what kind of car this is. I don't.
Further back in the woods...
Somebody forgot to do the dishes.
The old RV is a bit tidier.
A Hemingray #20 glass insulator -- manufactured up until the 1940's -- on the service drop to one of the old houses.
Found what appear to be some deer and maybe coyote remains along the way.
Well, that about does it. Cheerio! ~MoleNet94

really nice shots....love that we live in a place that has such beautiful greens that can creep into these spaces. Nice set!

That water looks absolutely enchanting. I would've taken a dip instantly.

That is so cool! I like the RV with the roof built over it. I once spent a weekend in a very small (not abandoned) RV park in Northern Wisconsin, where some of the RVs were essentially permanent fixtures, with structures built onto them, similar to what you have pictured.

Do you know if the tunnel nearby is still in use? Stampede Tunnel, I think.

Sadly, yes. Missed that opportunity by most of two decades, I'm afraid. It was reopened in the late 90's after a long period of disuse. I once found some pictures of it from shortly before it was refurbished, and they looked so amazing... *sniff, sniff*
