I was returning from my college trips to UNC Charlotte and NC State, so I thought it might not be a bad idea to to look at two possibilities for where I might landed after college.
But seriously I spotted a large abandoned school from the highway and I exited double back towards the town it was in. I noticed this place while passing through town but wasn't sure what it was so I elected that I might check it out if I had time after checking out the school.
I got kicked out from the school by a cop before I even got out of my car. It was a real shame because it looked pretty promising. So I did the logical thing and stopped back here. Too say the least I'll take a massive state mental institution that also served as prison, over a school anyday.

This is a cool place and you have some nice shots of it! I might add after looking at your Flickr page on it I saw one for sure, maybe two that I would rethink about leaving up. All it takes is for one person to see a shot like that and ruin it for everyone. Just a FWIW....

Ahaha. I love this place. There are so many buildings to check out too. Def is one of my fav abandonments.
