Massachusetts Exploration?

I'm an explorer from New Orleans and I'm doing an internship in Massachusetts for the next 6 weeks. I was wondering if anyone in the area would like to meet up to do some exploring. I'd love to check out an old state mental hospital while I'm here as we don't have many of those down south.

There is a lot in Massachusetts, but it really isn't meant for mass consumption. I know of a single city that holds apartment buildings, factories, towers, and commercial blocks, all abandoned. But it took a lot of work to find them, so I hope anyone looking does the same.

Thanks for the Belchertown tip! How about the Paul Dever School Taunton? It appears to be around still and is closer to where I am. Has anyone been in it?

Most of the L shaped buildings and just about everything in that area is gone. Security has been beefed up due to the demo and the equipment there. The hospitals are still there, but the State police are doing training in there, so you have to look out for that. The last time I want, as soon as I stepped on to the property, security was on me within 2 minutes. They told me that they were hired by the demo company and just asked me to leave.

I might be cool, but I'm far from a fan.

if all the L buildings are gone , that means the tunnels are gone too more than likely,

if it were me I wouldnt even bother with Dever knowing this

I was in dever a month ago maybe two. The corner where the "elementary" school and 4 L buildings were still there along with that tunnel system. Along with the hospitals. Although a majority of it is gone. We didn't get caught by security but someone did a patrol and shined the light down at us while we were by the hospital.

As for Dever:
All of the houses are gone but one. Half of the L shaped buildings are gone (all the ones between where the caf was and the laundry building) as well as the cafeteria. The power plant, garage, laundry, hospital, dps building, fenton, tapella, pineview, admin, and a couple others are still there. There is still no security for the abandoned buildings, but security for the front active buildings sometimes pays attention when people are around fenton. There are new cameras, though, all over the place, but the info I've got from local leos is that they're only there to protect the heavy equipment and arsonists.

That being said, if there is anywhere else to go, pass on Dever. If you're super bored and just need to get out of your hotel, it's better than dying of boredom.

Hey if you (or anyone else really) is heading out to the western/central part of the state send me a PM. Always willing to take a trip over to my favorite state school, or finally get pics of a certain hotel staircase nearby.

edit: sucks to hear that about Dever, still haven't been

So weird that Dever finally reached the chopping block. I can't imagine that tract of land without all those buildings on it. They're still planning on expanding the industrial park, right?

As for locations, they're around if you look for them. It's been a while since I've been back in the area so I'm not really sure what's left standing, but try poking around former industrial cities like Worcester. There should be some stuff left. You could also branch out into Connecticut.
