Hey all, Here are some pics of the Camp San Luis Obispo Amphitheatre. It was built back in 1943, and was host to some of the time's biggest stars. It has since fallen into severe disrepair, as you can see from the pics. In one pic, it shows how the bell tower actually fell into the column that supported it. Even looking at it so many years later, it was clear that very little was done in the way of engineering calculations. In fact, it seems that this was intended to be a short-lived, false facade type of setup. I have included current pics, as well as what I could find online regarding its glory days. Hope you enjoy! BTW, I am still nursing a pretty good case of poison oak thanks to this place : )

Some pretty cool stuff. Is this still on Military land?
When there is tranquility, you are in the right place. When there are no footprints, you are on the right path. When there are no tire tracks, you are on the right road. | |
Sort of. Its technically Camp San Luis, but is the part that was sold to Cuesta College. There is a helipad that the Civil Air Patrol Squadron uses that is right next to the fence line for the amphitheater, so I can get in through there. It is amazing how overgrown it is. The brush is so thick, that you literally cannot see the left side of the structure.
