I went with three awesome young ladies to check this place out and had a blast! I enjoy going with people and seeing their perspective from the same place. Hopefully they will post their shots soon...

The last Hurrah indeed. Glad to see that at least something is left after the EPA cleanup. This place was both most beautiful and horrible at the same time. High levels of mercury and radiation were found inside the building as well as thousands of bottles of chemicals. So sad to see it get trashed, one of the most amazing finds in a long time.

Hi Once-ler This was actually 2 days before the cleanup started. Sadly enough, most likely the stuff you notice missing is "explorer" related. :/

wish I had gotten a chance to go here. Such an awesome place.

Never heard how it got exposed and shut down. Was it an explorer who'd been inside and called the authorities about it?

Wow that place looks amazing!! So much cool stuff still left inside. Really difficult to pick favorite pictures since they are all excellent! I think I like 5 and 22 the best. Also got a laugh at the box of pregnancy tests in pic 11.

No there were not any. I have a feeling it was taken on an earlier explore?

Apparently between mid May and early June, the little fucker fully developed and walked right on outta there, right? Either an "explorer" stole it or the clean up crew removed it on the downlow because jarred "babies" ... albeit unborn ... wasting away in decaying buildings would not be well received by the majority of the mid-atlantic news watching public that's for damn sure. Yes I'm still mad about it, Benchie haha

So who wants to give the story for us that aren't from the area? What was the place, why was there so much waste, what happened to it?
