The Company was formed by a group of industrialists from the textile towns of Manchester and Hinckley. It was acquired by a Hinckley family in the 1930s, before being sold in the late 1980s to a consortium of businessmen and acquired in January 2012 by Aikon International, a Hong Kong based company with global interests in Underwear and Hosiery. Under its brand names of Palm, White Swan, Guardian and High Cross, the company’s products are sold in the UK and worldwide.
