1. Graffiti artist so discouraged by his effort that he abandoned his paint.

2.

3. An invitation.

4. A pillow, here?

5. Several garages like this one. One is a homeless encampment. Note the rope ladder, not typical car dealership or homeless equipment.

6. Rope ladder; yours?

An interesting set. I'm thinking I might have passed this yesterday on a train, but am not positive. It seems like so far, every location I have checked out here in Seattle has shown plentiful signs of having been recently used by homeless folks. I've even seen several campers, but so far haven't had any scary encounters.

I don't know if he actually abandoned it, but I do like it.
It somewhat reminded me of the shadows of Hiroshima as well.

The shadows are caused by the atomic blast. When the heat of the bomb hit a person that was standing close to a wall, the person's body 'protected' the wall. The enormous heat of the bomb made it to the wall, the curb, building etc. and changed the color of it. The body stopped some of the heat and it created what appears to be a shadow. The person died, but his or her image was left behind to remind us of how terrible the explosion was.

TunnelRunner33 ( http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&posterid=63553 ) and I returned to the auto dealership a month later. It sure has changed; all doors are now open, which I'd guess is related to the crowbar we found in a second floor hallway. Floors now have a crunchy layer of plaster and glass shards; no shoes, no service! Coils of electrical insulation with the copper stripped out. Some effort to collect and organize fluorescent tubes, etc. Two expensive looking desks, and sales paperwork strewn about. And a sweet find that TR pointed out to me, a playroom for customers' children.

1. The Fire Marshall will not be pleased.

2. Playroom

3. Outside the playroom.

4. Poison and food in the same drawer?

5. If you lost the manual for your car, maybe there's one here?

6. TunnelRunner33

7. Attic view

8. The Black Lodge

9. White Lodge; "the place that's the best"

10. I hope I never bought anything here.

That area you called the Black Lodge was a bit creepy. I wonder what the purpose of the boards painted in alternating colors might be. When we opened it up, the whole thing definitely had an atmosphere of mystery.

Thanks again to user 94810 515045 (http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&posterid=64084) for being willing to show me around! It was my first 2-person exploration.

He got to see more of the Black Lodge (re: Twin Peaks). Life is hard when you're a short explorer.

Yes, I saw that they'd started in on it a few days ago. It was fun while it lasted.

1. Huling Brothers, a.k.a. Gee Motors, hosted one of West Seattle's historical murals. I didn't post it before because it was so recognizable.

2. On 10/24/14, demolition is well-advanced. The old-timer (he's even older than me) from whose yard I took this shot shook his head and sighed. "Now there's no car dealers in West Seattle--new or used. They could have put some sports cars in there. The place had a really good shop."

What they'll build instead:
