Hey everybody, we are a couple of urban explorers from the north bay. We had been exploring for years before finding out there were other people like us. I recently came across this site and was pleased to find so many people in the area enjoy the same hobby. So far most of our exploration has been in Vallejo and the surrounding areas. Mare Island is what started it all for us and we are continuing to explore and find more things. We also just recently began to photograph the places we explore. Now we are not professional photographers, and most of our pics are either taken with a phone or a Gopro camera, but we document each trip as well as we can. Here are a couple examples of our recent trips. ( I will be posting more pics to the appropriate threads later) 1. Munition storage bunker on Mare island (ww1)
2. Abandoned brick factory near Martinez
3. Inside a munition storage bunker on mare island (ww2)
A full post about Mare island will be coming soon. Anyways we are excited to be a part of this site and will continue to contribute. We're also interested in meet ups and group explores in and around the bay area. We hope to meet the rest of you soon!

Welcome to the forums, fellas. Your introduction reminds me of myself when I would think to myself "Who in their right mind would do this just because?" about urban exploration before finding out there are other people into this as well ha-ha. p.s. Do not publicly give away location information as you did, and don't ask for locations either, because THEY will not use lube on you/y'all.

Thanks a through z, I was under the impression that giving just a rough idea of the location was allowed. which part was I too specific ( so I can edit it) Also these bunkers are in an open to the public area.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us? |

As a future tip.. At the bottom when you upload your photos, uncheck the "make my photos pop ups" or whatever it says.. I'm not sure. But most people don't like having to put their mouse over the photo to see it. <3 Welcome to the forums!

Another even better way to upload photos is to is to put them on Flickr and copy the embed code into the typing interface. Or if you host them elsewhere, you can copy image link and use the button to put the URL inside of the modifying BB code brackets.

Awesome! It is also beneficial because you can control size, quality, and all that jazz. But especially, you can get into the massive Flickr-based community along with the rest of us
