Inspired by that thing I linked to on craigs let's hear some of y'all's best and worst mechanical combos. I really wanna see how this goes.

My good friend Rob has a tow truck called "The Green Bastard". It's a '77 Jeep J20 cab, a Holmes 440 wrecker, on an early 80's GM 1 ton frame, with Dana 60 front and rear axles, originally a 454, now with a Cummins 5.9... It's the best truck that ever existed. I'll try and procure some photos.

when i was 19 my girlfriend at the time did everything to stop me from buying the tow truck from a gas station around the corner. It was a barely driven 1975 GMC Sierra. NP 203 transfer case, full time 4x4 with PTO running the Holmes 440. what was cool was the tow equipment was mounted in the bed of the pickup. Had a gorgeous look to it... still regret not buying it. it was only 2000$ Coolest thing about it? was a nice blue with big SUNOCO logos on it and lettered "Gilles BOOSTER Blanchette Radio Towing"

that is a piece to be looked at in awe. is that a 440 on the back? i always loved the look of the twin boom holmes wreckers. Its what a tow truck looked like when i was a kid.

I read this last night in a mild state of intoxication, and sprayed my beverage everywhere.

Oh and the winch is PTO driven. Which is really badass.

My friend Matt's truck takes the cake in worst combos: its a 2003 F350 with the awful 6.0 PowerPoke diesel engine lifed to the extreme. He's spent so much money on repairs. The only thing I like is the radio console he has, but none of of you guys like that.
My dream rig is to take a Chevrolet Kodiak with the Crew Cab, convert to 4x4, then put on a custom bed with side compartments for the ultimate 4x4! And its beefer and more practical than my friend Matt's truck and I can get service at more places.

Nice Bro-Dozer. Where's his quad bike?
