Back in the day, Robert B used to host D/FW Meet n' Greet (almost) every month. He became too busy and we rotated hosts for a few months. Then, the whole thing fizzeled out.

What say Explorers? Shall we start back?

Hi!

I'm still the "host", mostly because I couldn't bear to see the listing go away. We're the longest-running recurring meetup in the system! But if someone will take care of the cherished eventid=16, I'd be happy to turn it over.

In the meanwhile, if you need it updated, just drop me an email (robert b at little cutie something com) and I'll update the event listing with the latest details.

Our meet n greet has faded over time because of the lack of really fun stuff to do lately.

I'm coming into more free time than I've had over the last year or so, I'll see if I can dig something up.

I was in Dallas this past weekend, and noticed Dallas High School in downtown is abandoned and fully boarded up. It looked very promising though, but, I was short on time as I had to catch my bus to go back home.

Has anyone been inside? I may return to Dallas at the end of the month.

I don't think you understood the reference. The old Dallas high school was used as the police station in the first RoboCop movie in 1987.

The quote on Robocop is familiar, and I know it was filmed in Dallas & Houston, however, I didn't know the high school was used for the film. It has been ages since I've seen those classics.

It looks completely gutted, Fatwax. It doesn't look like it's even worth the time :/

Haha, yeah I loved that place but it may not be for you. Nothing to steal, just old architecture and decayed hallways

Ha... Ha... HA.
Old architecture is nice to look at, but sometimes you cannot tell there WAS old architecture thanks to the place being gutted-out.

The event is posted for tomorrow at noon. Anyone going? I'll make the drive up from Waco if people are going as I'd love to meet some fellow Texan UEers, but I dont wanna go to a Dennys to sit by myself. Let me know if it is still on or if I should make other plans for the day.
