Big Thunder Mining Co.
< on 3/29/2014 5:50 PM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
Some time in the late 1800s, gold was discovered on Big Thunder Mountain in the American Southeast. Overnight, the small mining town of Tumbleweed became a thriving mining town. Mining was prosperous, and an extensive line of mine trains was set up to transport the ore. Unknown to the settlers, the Mountain was a sacred spot to local Native Americans and was cursed.

Before long, the settlers' desecration of the mountain caused a great tragedy, a flash flood which befell the mines and town, and the town was abandoned.

Breddy gud shots. Id like to see the lighting method used in person.

If you bring scuba gear you can swim into the flooded part of the mine. Rumor is that there are mine carts full of gold at the bottom, left when the flood hit.

Found a old historical map of the area. Hope it doesn't give away the location.

That's a very complex mine cart track. Must've been busy.

The more photos I see of this mine, the more I want to check it out. Most of the threads seem to show the same portions of the mine. How extensive are the workings?
