First Post and Maiden Voyage (Picture Heavy)

After lurking the forums for awhile, and entertaining the idea of posting our adventures, My friend suggested that I post our most recent trip. We went to a fairly well known location in Southern Maryland with two more people, not really knowing what to expect.

We parked our car in a nearby lot and bushwhacked for about 20 minutes to safety arrive at the location.

The place itself is pretty large, nearly 300 acres if memory serves me correctly, and at this point most stuff is staged, but we still found some hidden gems in the three buildings that we were able to explore.

Here is just a picture set of some of the cool stuff we found. I hope we end up going back soon, one could really spend multiple days there.

Great first post & welcome to UER! Look forward to seeing more of your adventures!

The only critique I have would be dependant on the camera you have. If it is able to control shutter speed and ISO, you may want to try long exposures or tasteful lightpainting. You seem to be focusing your pictures on small details/objects which is an interesting touch that only a few people on here do.

The Durango '95 purred away a real horrowshow - a nice, warm vibraty feeling all through your guttiwuts. And soon it was trees and dark, my brothers, with real country dark.

Thanks so much for bot the praise and critique! Would long exposures require the use of a tripod? What kind of shutter speed would you suggest?

Cool shots!! I can't wait to see what you do with locations that provide a little more light. (I know dark locations are hard to photograph)

Long exposures usually need to be done so the camera doesn't move. You can improvise but a tripod really helps.

Shutter speed all depends on the light so try to do some experimenting. You can try 30 or 60 seconds in shutter priority mode on your camera when it's sort of dark and figure it out from there.

Welcome Haha @ that Pepsi sticker. As far as feedback I enjoy seeing the interesting items/signs (minus the toilet haha) you saw...but would also like to see some zoomed out views of the place as well!

Welcome aboard the UER train! Looks like you've got yourself a pretty solid first post here. Baltimore has some pretty good spots if you know where to look. Keep it coming!

Nice stuff, although I rarely shoot this kind of thing (the close-up of the left behind object). I'm much more about the place (shooting the great big wide shot that shows the room or building or exterior or whatever). But I love going to locations with someone who shoots like this, as it shows me a whole different perspective on the places we've been to. Like I said, nice stuff. Keep it up!
