Picher/Tar Creek

In an area known as the most toxic place in the US, this documentary takes place. I truly heart wrenching tale of exploitation and greed and the after effects. I stumbled across this documentary on Netflix. The title is "Tar Creek". It's worth a watch. Here's the trailer.

I think it's an interesting place and I want to go check it out. The trailer didn't have nearly enough abandoned stuff though. Also, I normally don't bother but it seems maybe a dust mask is a pretty good idea in this area.

RevSM, there is even less there now than when this documentary was shot. As far as a mask you wouldn't really need one. The greatest danger is from ingestion. Contaminated hands and eating etc. Hit me up if you are in the area, I'll show you a few sites.

Picher is awesome, been there many times. I haven't been in awhile but I won't be going back. The cops are, how do you say? Ah yes, MAJOR FUCKING PRICKS!

I watched that documentary awhile back, wasn't the best. Still worth a watch if you've been or want to go.

Search for threads on the place, there are several on here.

That wasn't my experience. They probably thought you were scrappers. Sorry the video was not up to your standards. They didn't discuss manholes enough for you?

There's never enough manhole discussion.
