Rooftops are beautiful!
The ones I've been to don't have bolted doors or whatever.
You just have to be lucky, that's what it's all about. If the place is abandoned, then you have the green light. If the building isn't, then you are better off using your "spidey powers" and not look down.

Sorry, I meant that as in when someone is going UP. Me, myself, I'm not afraid of looking down while climbing a building.
I love thrills.

Man, roofing is fun. It's way easier than finding abandonments because all you need to do is find a tall building, as opposed to finding a spot that's been abandoned. I do it all the time.

have yet to find a structure I cannot climb

Active hotel (alarmed now sadly)

Active office tower (with RCMP offices lol!)

Active Mormon conference center

Active office tower/hotel

Active bougie condos

Seriously, you'd be surprised how often people leave their roof doors unlocked. I've also seen a fair number of dummy/inactive magnetic sensors on doors, like relik said, sometimes the only way to know is to give it a yank.

There's magic to doors, alarms, locks and buildings. Master the magic and you can own the city, non destructively...

Struggles conquered with persistence, practice and often ingenuity combined with a few like minded mischief makers, some luck, and a bunch of beer.

I basically do rooftops to get leg-dangling shots then leave, period.

One of my hobbies is Parkour and Freerunning.

Same! Climbing around rooftops goes hand in hand with running and jumping, I find. A lot of the coolest parkour spots I've found also happen to be some of the coolest places for other reasons. I've accessed a few otherwise inaccessible locations by jumping to roofs with unlocked hatches or doors. "Why lock the roof? No one can get there..."

Not to mention it makes us literal nightmares for any security guards trying to catch up...

I have personally done it, mainly colleges, a few fast food places with minor deterrents and even 7-11, I love the thrill of figuring out a way onto the roof and then getting down without raising alarm haha

Yes - for sure.

Quite frankly, any time I'm in a new building I look to see if there's access to a roof.

It's been interesting over the years to find which doors are unlocked or not...

Climbing isn't my thing much these days but in the olden timez I climbed many a fire escape, electric ladder, and more to access some nifty spots ;)

Apartments are always the easiest buildings to rooftop.

Just act like you belong there.
