He's a bigger dick than Steve Duncan that much is for sure.

SD is a very friendly guy.

He got excited that someone wanted to make a film about his type of exploring and he agreed to it. I mean, that must have been a really cool idea at the time.

Is every explorer who is on film a douche? Did Crack the Surface (which was highly regarded in the UER community) lock up every rooftop, bridge, and tunnel? Why was Undercity any different?

Not to mention, Garret was directly involved in every aspect of it.
I've met him; pretty good guy, great photographer and a blast to explore with. Nowhere in my impression of him did I gather any sort of attention seeking or dickish behavior.

But I've never met the guy so my opinion is irrelevant.

Yet, you still felt the need to post it...

3 - Waaaaaaaay to much over analyzing and over thinking of Urban Exploring and what is is, what is means and how it relates to blah blah blah

The book is based off his Ph.D. thesis which explains the over-analyzing and over-thinking of Urban Exploring. If you have a background in cultural (human) geography it makes more sense but is still hard to read. I was hoping for a Hunter S. Thompson-esque read. The last two chapters were probably my favorite.

That makes sense. I recently defended my thesis and the topic nearly makes me gag now after all the over analyzing that was necessary, hehe.

Hi, everyone! Here's this thing I think is neat. Please take your time to show me how wrong I am and how that thing is literally Hitler.

I picture myself in pigtails as I read this. Was that intended?

Very useful resource, it was recommended to me by some colleagues in the UK who know Mr. Garrett, and my whole office has enjoyed it.

I love trespassing especially with drugs and weapons. PM me if you want to meet for fun adventure!

I am about halfway through this book and I have found it very interesting. It does over analyze things a bit, but I think that its well researched and gets to a lot of the underlying motivations regarding UE. I would recommend it. He did a did 2nd book call "Subterranean London" that came out last fall . Did anyone read it? Any good?

I've explored with Garrett quite a bit when he was in MSP and he's a great guy. Definitely NOT a dick or even remotely elitist.

OP liked the book and thought it was cool. Others wisely awared her of the error in her ways and that the author is a cock and his work should be disregarded.

I've not seen anyone say to completely disregard his works, but no one likes an echo chamber. People have different opinions of other people.

You could ask a group of 10 people about me and you'd probably get mixed reviews, just off of personal experiences or opinions.
