So, I've noticed that there are no members on here that live fairly close to me (within 10 miles)—not that I've been able to find anyway. I know of a location around here (actually I know of a couple, although the one I'm referencing is the largest out of them) that I've been to that I would like to contribute. It is quite possible that it may be in the members section but I have no idea. What's the protocol? I assume it's bad form to post anywhere and because of my limited access, I can't create a new location.

Sounds interesting, if ya wanna pm with an area I'd be interested in seeing if its close enough to come out

Sure, I can do that. I'll post a few snaps in a bit. If you're near Philly, it's about an hour from you.

Oh. Not sure if it would be worth the trip. It's a pretty cool large commercial facility but I probably wouldn't drive more than two hours to see it. If you were interested in coming out, I could meet up with you if interested and show you a couple of places. There's an abandoned supermarket around here as well. It's a smaller one but it might make it worth the trip. A friend also informed me of some tunnels under one of the casinos in Atlantic City. He's seen them when working onsite. I would be interested in checking those out. The only thing that's stopped me thus far is well . . . it's a casino and if you get caught, they'd probably never find your body. HA!

Ocean City Jersey or Maryland? The one in Jersey fuckin' blows. It's a dry town. Worthless.
"Are you happy now with all the choices you've made?" "Are there times in life when you know you should've stayed?" "Will you compromise and then realize the price is too much to pay?" "Winners and losers... which one will you be today?" ***Social Distortion*** |

Jersey and yeah, being a dry town does suck indeed. But having casinos ten minutes from me is pretty fucking awesome. Besides, just go over the bridge and there's a liquor store and three bars right there. And our waves are much better than lame-ass Maryland.

Ever been to the Stinkhouse on Crab Island in Little Egg harbor? http://binged.it/1f7TkI1

Nope but the lady has been. Last I heard, they were razing it. Not sure of its current status.

South Jersey has some stuff. The spot you posted is prob one of the biggest places in this area, but man is it a shit hole. Atlantic City has some stuff, but a lot has been converted recently. There's always hope for exploring the Atlantic Club one day I guess. http://articles.ph...ty-casino-gambling There's a shit ton of abandoned houses around here. Prob due to the shit storm of job loss in recent years - see above link. Some homes look abandoned, and some are not though so pick and choose wisely. The stink house is cool, but you need some kind of boat. 7 Bridges Rd is really only 6. I wouldn't go now though, the wind rips over the Great Bay and will freeze the salt water into a block on whatever your in.

Lemme know if it is still there come spring time. I have wanted to take a kayak out there for awhile.
|
|
Over the summer we were in ac and pretty sure there were one or two abandoned casinos.
|
|
There's no abandoned casinos in AC. Trust me. The Atlantic club just closed and there's people working there. Just as the hilton became the Atlantic club, the Atlantic club will become something else. I'll be sure to let y'all know if any of that changes.

You know what, I was thinking of a different location in Mays Landing. Neither my girlfriend or I have been to the Stink House.

Activity at the Atlantic Club will probably die down once they empty out all the furniture and games. My advice on Atlantic City is hit the stairwells. The Claridge has a ton of abandoned floors but be warned, Caesars still owns it, and the guest room floors are still active. Staff are in the back corridors all the time. It's do-able, but probably not for long, considering they're almost done spinning off the building to another company. There are also many, many unfinished floors and unoccupied spaces in the Revel.

Yeah, and if you go into the lower levels of Caesars, you can get a free meal from the employee buffet. It's pretty good. No joke. Claridge was sold. Didn't even know that there were abandoned floors. I heard bally's was using some of the rooms for overflow. Don't really know about the Revel. Never been other than to surf in front of it on NJ Ave. Either way, pics or it didn't happen. Ha!

Posted by El Intruso Claridge was sold.

The Claridge was under contract, to close by the 26th. When did it close? I was starting to think the deal fell through.

I deviated from my usual routine of being a jackass without provocation in order to give you an insightful and accurate response about a region that I consider to be of particular interest. But in questioning that, you've reminded me that it is in fact critically important for me to immediately denigrate and discourage anyone on this forum that appears to be asking a legitimate question.

El Intruso, that looks like a great spot. I'm not a full member or anything, but I'd be up for exploring from Philly after the weather breaks.
