I've always wanted a turbo 5 speed van , bonus if it's a panel van.

Hey samurai, I was thinking about you today. Was in a scrapyard and there was an 89 Sunbird GT convertible in there. I've been selling junkyard parts on eBay lately but there wasn't anything to give me an idea of whether or not anything was really worth grabbing off of it. I know you're in that scene, the main thing I was thinking about were the factory fender flares, they were in pretty good shape but would be $60 at the junkyard. Think I could find a buyer for a decent enough profit quickly enough?

it's a shame that GT is in the scrapyard... those are actually getting pretty sought after from the more classic elements of the J-body crowd. Best place to get a feel for what they'd be worth is to hit up J-body.org and troll the 2nd gen forums (88-94). If it's a turbo 2.0L I know a lot of the plumbing can be hard to find.

Thanks for the link. Yeah I'd love to make some money off of it but a big part of it is I know those cars have a following and it is a shame to see it in the scrapyard, so I'd like to get some of the harder to find parts back into the hands of someone that'll use them.

It's non-turbo unfortunately. And the body is surprisingly solid, a little damage from being moved around with a wheel loader but you'll have that. Mostly the interior is just rotten.

Honestly I didn't even pop the hood because I knew if there was a 26 year old junkyard turbo I wasn't taking it to sell. I just remember not seeing any turbo badges, and I thought they all advertised the fact that it was a turbo pretty obviously. I'll probably go back Monday or Tuesday and if so I'll take pictures but in the meantime:

Yeah. Again, not especially my scene, but I can appreciate an enthusiast car. I'd love to save and resell all the GT specific parts but I just don't have the money to invest in that, being that it's a bit of a gamble how much it would sell for or how long it would sit in the spare bedroom.
