I don't know much about this location other than that the business that owns it decided to relocate their staff to another facility. I also have met several scrappers in my visits here and they all tell me the story about a fellow scrapper who almost died pulling copper out of a live panel. You can see the scorch mark on the control room floor for yourself if you visit... Full set here: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjQ4No8f

The Lego cement block shot you took is pretty sweet Seedy. No.14 is one of the best night shots I've seen you post Zombiemeat. Guess you are enjoying that new camera.

Yes, I'm definitely enjoying the new camera and lens I got. I think I have a couple of better shots from that night, but they require more post process time. I'll put them up once I finish them. ;) -ZM

Seedy -- I really love the Legos shot! Your view from the top reinforces my decision to NOT attempt the climb up there. Thank you so much for sharing the site and all the pointers to the good stuff! ZombieMeat -- I really like #12 and #14. Great lighting in those two. Since the exteriors were well-covered by the posts before mine, I'll just throw in a few of the smaller details I picked up. Control Panel #1
Man Shaker
Control Panel #2
Coarse Aggregate
Thanks again, Seedy!

Nice find and cool pics all. From the description I heard of this place, it didn't sound that interesting at first. I've changed my mind after seeing your shots. -free

Fusspot: No.2 has some great detail. Very nice. Dtew: Thats some lovely contrast and framing you have going on. This location turned out to be very fun to shoot and the lack of graffiti was a bonus. Here's my take on the cement plant from my two visits there. 1.

So many nice shots! Great job everyone!
What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy, and joy is, after all the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money, we eat and make money to be able to live. That is what life means and what life is for. - George Mallory. |

Dtew - I really like that shot and can't wait to see more of yours! Decrepitude - Your second pic reminded me of how I wanted to shoot all my pics through a piece of that spare grating. Where are the scrappers when you need one to cut something down to a manageable size?
I have a shot of that going the other direction! So many angles in this place...

Great shots Boosted. I especially like the framing on the last one.

So many awesome pictures, where do I even start? Seedy: I love how you captured the silhouettes of the complicated grind-crusher against the beautiful sky in #7. The depth of focus and lighting is also very pleasing in #2. Scrappers always have the craziest stories; that guy's lucky he survived! ZombieMeat: Amazing night shots! I'm really impressed by how well you captured the night sky, especially in 14. Pretty incredible. Fusspot: Seriously fantastic micro shots. I'm obsessed with control panels for some reason. dtewsacrificial: Wonderful. Great perspective and I love the dark colors. decrepitude: Some great, large photos here. Awesome colors and lines in 5. I like the focus on the gauge in front of the heavy metal and riggings (nooses?) in 4. Also, thanks for showing all of the control room in 6! boosted302: All three of your pictures are phenomenal. Number 3 really stood out to me -- the perspective makes the place look huge, and the catwalk above/angle makes it seem like the camera was lowered from above. Seriously stunning picture. Thanks everyone for sharing, I really enjoyed looking through these pictures.

Thanks, Austtie! I appreciate the comment! Boosted -- I really like the perspective in your third shot. The second one is pretty cool, too.
