Military Complex

So this past summer a group and I went exploring a local complex. It was the perfect day to be there, although I wish I had some actual camera equipment or was better at using my iPhone as a camera. It was amazing with the graffiti, the growth of plants and the decay of the structures. The way the sunlight shimmered through the buildings and plants. I'm actually working on plans to get either the OK or via other methods to shoot a music video there as the location was just stunning. I was just reading a thread on here about the building that had been whitewashed and how elaborate the graffiti was on that building. This place is a whole campus of graffiti work.

couple nice ones that have been there a while and not painted over yet (was going to say, "violated", but I guess by definition the initial painting a technically a violation).

Graffiti artists have a code . . . has something to do with death, I think.

Im pretty sure this is coming down this week or at least this month. People should get it in while they can. Its Whompatuck State park and I live very close. I dont usually give up a spot but my friend said he saw them staging the demo equipment there yesterday and hundreds of people walk by it daily. Be careful they could have security and Hingham Cops are terrible people.

I know a lot of the writers there. Good luck people.

Has there been anything that you've read about that it's slated for demo? It doesn't seem exactly to be of importance to demolish being that it's in a state park, brick, almost nothing to be burned / damaged. Seems random all of the sudden they would decide to demo it?

They demo'd a lot of buildings a few years ago. There is still a lot to see, there are bunkers in the woods, a message on a rock, the old rails. I used to go quite often, sad to hear they're taking down more. I think these pics are from around '04 or '05, not a lot of graffiti.

I used to love exploring that place with my buddies back in college. Most of it's gone now as I understand, and the tunnels are sealed because someone went down there and murdered a bunch of homeless guys that were living there. Too bad, if you ask me.

Sounds like you're thinking of Bare Cove, the original Hingham Naval Ammunition Depot. Wampatauk was a storage annex. The homeless guys were living in a couple small bunkers and got killed. I met one of the homeless guys living there just before it happened, he was a veteran and definitely didn't deserve what he got, the punk kids that did it should fry. Initially they sealed the bunkers and welded a cross on the front, but then they bulldozed them.

(homeless guys bunker. It was dirty but for some reason he took his shoes off and left them outside)
