Christmas portraits with Santa for a women's shelter [non UE]

Let's take a moment and reflect. Most of us here have thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment. A good camera with a good lens combo ranges from $600 and up.

Having said that, a good camera set is unattainable for some low income families.

I just wanted to ask if any here knows of any women's shelter that would like Santa to come in and have their portraits taken with them and their children.

Mods, I know this has nothing to do with UE, but Christmas is around the corner and I just wanted to ask a favour from fellow members.

I've done this before w Nellie's two years straight but they are getting a lot of support already. So this year I want to focus on a smaller organization.

Black's was very generous to supply us with free prints and frames and they are willing again this year.

Fellow exploring brothers and sisters, please help a brother out by recommending a shelter that would like this to happen.

Many thanks in advance.

Photography can't change the world, but those being photographed feel they exist, they are worth it and be able to have joyous memories ....

great idea! I'd totally be interested in volunteering my time and equipment to help with something like this. Please let me know if you need anything, or if there are opportunities for more than one photographer

terapr0 - thanks for your kind words and throwing your hat in! It is appreciated! With your skills, any shelter can benefit. I am currently looking around right now for lesser known organizations as we speak and will definitely keep you updated Someone on another forum told me to contact the YWCA and they can hook me up

rob.i.am - only if you dress up as Santa and I get to tie you up ... HO HO HO!

Thank you Sir! My Santa is coming back but if there are lots of kids, would you be willing to be Santa too? That way we can set up two shooting stations ...

I can't on Saturday. Too bad cause everyone likes a Santa in a kilt.

Ok, let me know. Although 2 Santas in one room is usually a no no.
