Posted by Vampirequeen Flashyfashionfraud: Before I say anything, I want you to know that I love your username! As someone who had a slightly similar experience almost a year ago (but on the other side of the country), I want to give you a virtual pat on the back for handling this as well as you did as well as admitting your mistake. You just have to take every mistake as a learning experience so you know better than to do it again. Good luck with your future explores!

Thanks! It was a super hero I made up as a kid and it just stuck. It means a lot I have the support. I guess we all go through this mistake, eh? Thank you.

Place has motion sensors on the building now, one above the front door and three more on the sides and back of building.... damn shame never got to hit it.

Motion activated lights? Or worse?

I will post a picture of what the alarms look like when I get home from worl, snapped a couple with my zoom. From what I could tell they are alarms not lights.... Fucking sucks but I have a feeling there are ways to work around em~
|
|
1 (Front Entrance, see alarm above door)
2 (Flooded Basement via Window)
3 (Spoiled P.O.E)
4 (Cables coming from building… questionable)
5 (Motion sensor, my guess alarm but might be for lights on building)
6 (Alarm close up)
Thats all the info I gathered when I was there. I don't know enough about alarms to identify whether those are for lights on the building or if they actually trigger and alert security to intruders. Any thoughts~?

This is a wildlife infared motion camera. Hunters use these to see if wildlife they are tracking are present in the area they are hunting. In this case it's been set up to catch pictures of people trespassing. In fact, if you got this close to the camera to take this picture, it has also taken a picture of you. Now, notice the padlock on the housing. That's because it stores the photos in the device, and it's not connected to a remote viewing console. They have to take the camera down and get the images from it's memory to view the pictures. A poor mans security system . In fact, people steal them when they find them in the wood on a regular basis, hence the heavy duty security enclosure with lock you see here. If you approach this camera, just obscure your identity, and there would be no way for them to identify you later on. It does not set off an alarm, or call the cops.

@OttoL Well thats good to know. I actually snapped these pictures from pretty far away with my 70-200mm Zoom lens so should be fine. Regardless that might be the dumbest security measure I've heard for an abandoned building. Thanks for teaching me something new~

Ok:
trail cams are actually a pretty cost effective security device Ive encountered them in abandoned buildings before, heck I may have even been imaged by some those pictured are in armored cases, they time stamp the images and some of our local burglars and vandals have found these images used against them at their trials, so the admissibility factor has been tested just don't get identified cover your face, wear non descript clothing also the way some cams are deployed you can defeat the motion sensor by getting low or hugging the wall the beam is somewhat less than 180 usually like 120 degrees and cone shaped its not likely those pictured are WiFi or cell phone enabled but you cant be sure unless you get close enough to see the model through the window or find an antennae and even the cheap ones shoot IR images now I use several of the cheapos on my property, my personal pic was taken with one of them and I can approach one and retrieve the SD card without triggering the camera 1.

Anyone that made it inside might be surprised to hear that the hospital has been sold for two million dollars and is going to be turned into a residential care facility. Maybe the new owners put up those motion detectors.

Wandered to the west this weekend and happened to find myself here. Here is a teaser since I should really go to my day job and do some adulting. This is just iPhone and a lamp so the quality is a little low. Masks are a must if you hit this spot.

It's still standing as of Saturday! I will post more pics tonight. It's still structurally sound from my assessment but not for long.

Do it! If you want to see the basement wear some wellies - saw at least one carcass in the water so I skipped that.
