Here they install an ignition interlock breathalyzer in your car (if you do end up getting your license back eventually), which is hooked into an alarm system with an amber flashing light on the front bumper. If your ignition is on for more than 30 seconds and the car won't start, the alarm and light go off and can't be silenced for a certain period of time.

I hate getting those in our shop, this one lady was a bitch about blowing into it ( I'm not blowing into your nasty tube shit) so I disconnected it and put it back in when I was done with her car. She got a fine for disabling it

I think his business is so bad that he spent the money on other stuff and not on the parts for your car. His reputation for job completion is so bad that honestly, it's a wonder he has any business at all. Sure, he gets tow money, but considering his track record and the fact he can't keep employees...well, don't count on him actually spending the money on an insurance repair job until he actually has to. Insurance repair has a time limit, right? Well, were I you, I'd let this go no further than the end of the week and then go get the car with the state police in tow, just to make sure you get your car back, even if it's not done and let the insurance company go after him. This kind of shit is why repair shops lose their licenses and why some insurance companies will not deal with certain shops. I ran into this with my mom's car. They gave me a few names of some around here not to use. I won't say which ones, but Encompass actually gave me a list. I'm not being mean, nor am I thinking the worst of anyone, I'm just being practical. Enough is enough.

Most likely better, gm didn't paint it this time.

Again, says the guy with 80s and 90s Chrysler products. Those didn't even come with paint on horizontal surfaces, did they? Ugh. I can't believe I just defended GM almost kinda.

My spirit kinda looks like that guy made of money in the Geico commercials when I drive along the highway, losing both my money, and paint equally fast.

it wasn't just Chrysler that got burned by the whole paint thing... certain GM models would lose their paint (Corsica's, Berettas, certain color Lumina's) as well. Ford had issues with their whites and reds oxidizing. My father's 89 Mustang GT got so bad that he couldn't buff it anymore and just repainted the whole car.
