When DawnPatrol gets up early for work I like to get up a little before her and make her breakfast so she doesn't get stuck eating cereal every day. I usually start breakfast while she's getting ready, and by the time she's ready to eat...it's ready to be eaten. (sometimes my timing is off a bit, I'm still working on that) So lately I've been making her sausage-egg-bagel sandwiches. Been using an 'egg ring' to pour scrambled eggs into for just the right size of egg on the bagel. Sausage though... I started getting the 'log' of Jimmy Deans sausage, and forming patties myself. Took me a while to figure out that they shrink and thicken up a bit while cooking; so I make them realllly flat, and bigger than they need to be by about 20%. BUT... I ALWAYS manage to burn them. I'm even using a non-stick pan, and I put some oil in it, but they ALWAYS come out burned.
How do you cook sausage patties without burning them??? I've eaten at plenty of places with nicely cooked patties that aren't burnt, how do they do it??
Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =) |
