I just read in Off Road Adventures that Ford is re-introducing the Ranger and Bronco. The new Ranger looks kind of like a Honda Ridgeline.

the Ranger never went out of production in other parts of the world.

The rest of the world kept getting an updated version of the Ranger with newly designed interior and exterior while North America was stuck with a copy paste version from 1992.

Ford lent Mighty Car Mods a brand new Ranger when they headed to New Zealand a season or two back.

That's because the 1993-Death version is probably the most indestructible vehicle ford's ever made.

Someone broke in to my truck the other night and stole my backpack from the rear seat, they busted out the quarter panel window on the rear door.

not being a dick or have intent to be a dick, but that's the reason I leave nothing in my car. Not even empty soda bottles. Nothing.

I know but I was having dinner inside of a restaurant and I was parked right outside in the parking lot. Funny thing is the Sheriff told me that break-ins occur on a weekly basis at that particular place

When buying a used truck, I would check the service/repair records.
|
|
This truck came with every service record and even the window sticker from the lot. Original owner bought it brand new out of Oregon

Probably from Northside Ford...they apparently sell the most pickups in Oregon since 1985...

Even *I* bought a Ranger- I've had about 160 cars and no Fords. (Well, a '94 Topaz that I ran in a demo derby) I like that the model year range for most mechanical parts is 1983-2011. I'm very pleased with it so far, and I pretty much got it for scrap price. Mine's a '97 4.0, and I stripped a ton of stuff from an '04 in the wreckers, everything fit. Even the CD player from a much newer Explorer was plug and play. It's far from beautiful and it's tiny but I don't need a full size truck at all. It'll haul the 1400lb race Beetle around no problem.

my nephews 05 Ranger has flipped 135,000 and it's just been general repair items like an alternator, batter, exhaust bits, brakes/rotors, brake lines and associated hardware. He has broke one of the box mounts and it's starting to get pretty rusty, though. he doesn't take very good care of it.

I changed stuff on mine because I can't leave shit alone. Ranger FX4 flares, 15" wheels and larger tires, 4x4 front lip with fogs, seats from a 2010 Ranger and overhead console from an Explorer w/digital temp and compass. I like this truck enough that I'd consider paying real money for a tidy, newer 4x4 one. And a few 4x8 sheets of drywall or plywood fit in the box nicely.

105,*** on mine. Did the alternator cause it died, spark plugs and replaced a ceased wheel hub on the driver side front wheel.

My $500 Ranger failed its e-test so miserably that it fouled the test probe of the e-testing machine. I'm almost proud of it for that. It always had faults for all three O2 sensors, all three were new, wiring between them and the ECM was good, so I'm guessing it was an ECM issue- even fed low voltage from a VW test box to the ECM and watched readings on the scan tool and it read nothing. And it was a one year, 4.0 manual 2WD ECM only... couldn't find one anywhere. Plus it needed spring mounts, all 4 shocks, had a cracked exhaust manifold, etc. It was tired. So I got a Mazda Ranger.
It uses about 1/3 of the fuel since it can actually read the O2 sensors! And the Ranger has a potential buyer who wants to fix it up, so that's cool. I'd like to see it live on, it was like a loyal little donkey.

every day that I drive home from work I think about selling my Ranger and my Mini, I think I could get about 13K all together for both cars. I kind of want to switch back to Toyota and get like a 2012-15 4Runner -or- wait until 2019 2020 for the new Ranger...
