Fell through a ceiling in an abandonment, landed on a table, cracked the table in half.

As I was falling I grabbed onto a fist full of rusty nails.

Perhaps the injury involved getting someone's tits affixed to her hand?

A male urban explore can go years at a time with the sight of breasts, other than in porn. When a male urban explorer witnesses breasts not in porn they may become irrational and lose their ability to focus on anything else along with losing all respect for themselves.

I guess I've been pretty lucky so far, all things considered; I've stepped on a few nails and nearly twisted my ankle more times then I can count, but the worst injuries I've sustained was an ass full of rock salt from a twelve gauge and some nasty road rash and scratches from diving out of the way of an oncoming train into a wooded embankment.

Well, that and the time I pissed on a DC electric fence transformer, but that wasn't really UE so much as a drunken party in the abandoned train yard...

broke part of radial head OFF after falling off chair at Fort Ord. Went to another photo shoot at a studio after that. Thought maybe it was just dislocated so had random people pulling on my arm trying to put it "back."

Luckily didn't need surgery.

I suspected it was broken though, if I didn't move it for a few minutes my arm would be paralyzed. It was actually this symptom that let the physician's assistant know how and where it was broken before the xray. Pretty common I guess.

Got this cool diagram too

I don't know what it is, honestly. Because my luck is an absolute bitch and luck it is that'd want me dead, in other aspects at least any way. But when it comes to UE, the max I've had is had a free fall 2 stories, onto a balcony, barefoot. (I was barefoot because the pole I was trying to climb was slippery as fvck. So I figured barefoot was a good idea. It wasn't.)
Maybe it is that I am extra careful / do things that I'm confident with / assess risk appropriately?

I had a naked edgy barb wire grind against my right hand's extensor pollicis longus, but that's not even that bad in comparison to others' injuries here.

I'm always really careful when I explore, but one night my friend and I tried to get into a partially demolished building. And with it being dark out I didn't see that there was a hole that lead down to the basement. I went right through it got cut up by the jagged cement and rocks and metal bits. It was scarier at the time because I had no idea what had happened and I was hanging by my arms with my legs swinging around. Really just an inch cut on my knee that bled like a b. Other than that just bruises.

I'm super careful now. All I've gotten is a few scratches from tight entry points or a sore hand or two from climbing fire escape ladders. All in good fun right?

Meet my tibia, the bright spot in the middle of a shitty old cell-phone photo:

(And no, that's not a red sock.)

I was finished with my exploring for the night, waiting for a ride home for whatever reason. Killing time, I jumped up on a ledge and my foot slipped. I landed on a metal ridge hard enough that I SPLIT my leg open, down to the bone. (I didn't know this, yet.)

My pants were still intact, so I just thought I hurt myself REALLY bad. I tried to walk it off, I gimped my way into the car when it arrived.

On the way home we stopped for gas and I tried to walk it off some more, when I discovered that the leg of my jeans was wet. Then I saw that they had soaked through and that my boot was COVERED in blood, which was now running off into the parking lot. (Fortuitous garbage placement saved me from bleeding all over the passenger compartment of xRedx's car.)

We went to the ER after we got gas.

Three compressed vertebrae, shattered tibia and fibula, broken femur and a ruptured liver and spleen.

Fell around 150 feet into a quarry one night about three years ago. I bounced most of the way down as opposed to a straight free fall, which obviously would have killed me. Spent about 5 hours waiting for help to arrive.

I ended up having to go through a month of occupational therapy and a year of physical therapy. Had one of those external fixators for about six months (repairing the broken tibia and fibula). I was on crutches after that thing came off. All in all, it took about two years of my life to get fixed up to close to my previous agility. I can run and jump again, but I still get pretty bad pain in my legs, especially after walking long distances and when the weather gets cooler.

Yeah, I was one of those really stupid climbers back in the day. Don't do what I did.
