The Thrills & Adventures - Remembering The Very Beginning

I bet anyone who found a passion for UE will always remember their first expedition. I know I won't forget mine, which was during the summer of '91 when I discovered the Canada Packers plant at 660 Marion Street, Winnipeg Manitoba. That building was infamous. Looking back at all the time spent inside and around the building, I don't ever regret any of my visits there. If I could of changed one thing, it would of been perhaps having a ventilator as the air inside was fairly polluted... something you shrug off each trip, but one day realize may of been a wise investment. And why, did we not have these handy DSLR cameras, or HD video recorders back then? I remember how bulky it was to try and videotape, using an 8mm camcorder with 6 battery packs. Overkill? No, i don't think so. I haven't been inside a derelict building in years, and miss the thrills.. the adrenaline... discovering what lay around each corner...or who.. I'll bet many of us explorers would of been the ones who were always traveling seeking out new "lands" back in the settler days and before. You know, there are days when a particular smell hits me, or when a cold light breeze on a hot summer day blows past my face.... and suddenly I feel like I am inside one of my old haunts again..
