Great shots, but is that HDR? The plasticky-shimmery effect looks a bit odd...maybe its just me. I like the framing

The so called "secret sidewalk" Is an aquaduct just an enclosed one. I didn't notice the camera but as soon as I passed it a red light blinked scared me so instead of leaving I took a picture. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aqueduct_(bridge)

Nice pictures!

Actually went by the entrance this evening, but it was too late to make it there & back before dark, so I'll have to come back earlier in the day another time. Searching online it looks like this place is pretty well known, but still worth a visit.

We started by the brick factory and rode west thinking we would be able to get down from that end. We could not and had to ride all the way back.

Once on the actual sidewalk it gets pretty thin and some of the hatches have been opened to go inside and if you fall off the side it is a very very steep and long fall.

Hey man, having lived in Lancaster / Palmdale, I was thinking the same exact thing. hahaha

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

It's called "sidewalk" for a reason. It wasn't that sketchy at all. I don't recall any "hatches" on the top and we did it during the day. If I get a few minutes I'll edit together the video segments...

Two openings which I guess could be called hatches but if you walk the whole thing you will find them. I didn't go inside this trip.

I was out that way a couple of months ago to shoot the art and explore. Too bad the chimneys got knocked down a while back. As I was leaving I bumped into a property owner who was driving in and stopped to check what I was up to.

They have been slowly demoing this place for years. When I was in high school this place(brick factory) was site for many keggers. A few years ago they demoed a huge section of the aqueduct that crossed the river. This was the original delivery system for the hetch hetchy water to S.F. There is a cool water temple(as seen on mythbusters) along the line & a matching one over in SM Co.

The question is not when are we gonna stop, It's who's gonna stop us?
