I have a 98 F 150. Last monday I was rear ended pretty hard by Silverado. Bumper is mashed and the tailgate is dented all the normal stuff you'd expect, but the third door to access the back seats now no longer works. I don't think the hit was hard enough to warp the cab.
So is it possible the internal linkage got knocked loose?
I don't really feel any resistance on the handle anymore, well I do but just the resistance of the spring not of any mechanism.
Anyone have any ideas? An adjuster is coming to look at it later today.

Either the linkage is knocked loose or the cab got tweaked just enough to jam the door.

The linkage is off. I've seen it a few times with the 3rd door on the Ford. It pops off kinda easy.

Living back at your parents house after owning your own for 5 years sucks worse. We have 12 cars here and only a 3 car driveway, not to mention 4 motorbikes in the garage.

im into my 3rd year with the B4000 dual sport (4x4 suspension only 2wd) and loving it, drinks dino juice like its free but pretty good towing, keep the grand prix for the summer.

it was a mess. it had two different size wheels front and rear (which tears up a transfer case), the frame was rotten, the crossmembers were rotten, the engine had a nasty cold knock and the oil pressure on the gage was less than inspiring. I put the transmission into reverse, seemed ok. Put it in Drive and it was like maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyybeeeee thump ok in drive. I was diplomatic, but that truck isn't worth $1200.
