Memphis Imam: "Jews and Christians filthy, their lives and property can be taken in jihad by the Muslims" http://www.youtube...re=player_embedded Qadhi is an imam in Memphis. He's also Dean of Academic Affairs at the Al-Maghrib Institute. He's a hafiz, meaning he's memorized the entire Qur'an. He has an M.A. in the Islamic Creed and a B.A. in Islamic Sciences from Islamic University of Medina, as well as a master's and a doctorate in Islamic Studies from Yale ... Sooo ... how is it, then, that he misunderstands jihad so spectacularly that he sounds like a Islamophobe? Curious.

And your point is? Honestly, he sounds like the Muslim version of Fred Phelps.
“We are not going to have the kind of cooperation we need if everyone insists on their own narrow version of reality. … the great divide in the world today … is between people who have the courage to listen and those who are convinced that they already know it all.” -Madeline Albright | |
Nope. You're a "conservative" Muslim if you favor Sharia, polygamy, child marriage, etc... In the U.S., you're "conservative" or "far-right" if you oppose those things. Islam is a mirror image of Christianity.

Unless you're Mormon. Plus Sharia = "Biblical" law

Kind of, but not really. Sharia is the way, fiqh is the law. Raised as we were, it's really hard to understand Islamic law and society. Looking at the broad field of Western religion ... Buddhism makes more sense. But whatever.
