I know, I know...it's a subject that people here probably won't care about, but I grew up around this sort of stuff.

When I was a kid, my mom used to love watching Liberace when he was on TV. So, I definitely knew about this guy when I was growing up and that there was something not quite right about him. On top of that, there was another movie that insinuated a lot but never told the true story which was released probably 20 or so years ago with an actor that did a hell of a lot better job than Michael Douglas did, but he'll still probably get some kind of award or something for it, considering the subject matter.

Anyway, what I can't believe is the cast for this one. Not only the cast, but the movie was actually so over the top that it's almost tongue in cheek. Which surprises me that they actually released it. Once you see some of the weird sex and bed scenes, you'll understand why it's one of those movies that you cannot believe actually got made and with two actors of this caliber. Well, not caliber, but of this supposed level of notoriety, because they really sort of sucked to begin with before they ever were cast. The sex scenes aren't anything that'll make you run screaming for the door, they just seem...strange. Maybe it's just that we're not completely used to seeing gay men in love scenes. That and the porn shop scene really pushed it.

On top of this, I'm surprised that the estate let them make this film, considering the lengths that they took to hide Liberace's homosexuality for like 40 years. Even though we all knew he was gay, you just couldn't miss that fact even though no one talked about it.

It's reminiscent of a car accident in some respects, once you start watching it, you end up watching it right to the end.

It's worth a watch, but more of in a "I can't fucking believe they actually made this movie" type of way.
