He almost got away. Until I got out and looked at the damage. He begged us not to file a police report. So...can you say insurance claim? It was his fault too.

If it makes you feel better, my mom had an 08 Colorado. At 20k, the rear brakes were metal to metal. The service tech told her this is common and typical wear, so she had to pay full price for a brake job. Throttle control module went out at 30,000 miles. Popped 72 fault codes and made the truck completely undrivable. Apparently the dealer wouldn't cover it under her powertrain warranty because this is a common faulty part that they refuse to recall despite being pressured by the NHTSA, so they're not even warrantying them anymore. They quoted her $1400 to repair it, and wouldn't even guarantee the new one would even work. Also by this time the A/C blew warm, and a power window was intermittently not working.
She flipped it and is now happily driving a used 2010 Rav4 that came with a longer warranty than the Colorado did new.

I'd just like to point out that I've noticed Aveos with a lot of premature paint issues.
Then again, Aveos are absolute shit in every imaginable aspect, so...

i went to GM Customer Service and complained about the Service Advisor. On top of that, my brother (who used to work at the dealer) called one of the salesman and told him that i was furious about the entire experience and that I was pretty much never going to buy another GM/Chevrolet again blah blah blah... Five minutes later, my salesman called me back asking me what was happening. I explained what was going on with the car and i was told that whatever the car needed to make it right would be taken care of. After my vacation, the car goes back to have the paint work finished (rocker panels from the B-pillar forward). Also, the paintwork that was done has weather the past couple of months ok. Mechanically, the car was performaed well. Mileage is better than advertised. It's just i am not happy with it, although yesterday when I put the spurs to it passing some retard in an F150, the little 1.4L came to life with a vengeance in 4th gear... in 90F heat.

I'd rather have the 1.4 turbo you have than the 1.8 NA engine that the base Cruze and my Astra have.
It's still the service department that will keep me from buying another GM product. I'll keep older cars that I can work on, but keep a spare instead. At least the Astra isn't a total bitch to work on, being that it's fairly old tech.

it's the customer service people that saved the experience. I talked to the woman who does the actual scheduling. From what she said, the GM rep not only went up one side of the evil hag giving me attitude, but the guy that owns the dealership as well.
so there was satisfaction...
