Toyota makes some pretty ugly cars too....well....not so offensively ugly, as aggressively mediocre and totally bland. And I think it's ridiculous how much hate gets piled onto mazda, especially by the guys in here who lust after shitty old J body's, Cobalts, lebarons, K cars and numerous other rectangular econo boxes from the 80's. I for one think my Mazda 3 is quite attractive, a lot more so than most other cars on the road. it doesnt have the yellow headlight film anymore btw....that was an experiment
Yes, the "smile" isnt to everyones liking, and I think it looks better from the front & side than from the back, but it's an attractive car that handles well, is reasonably well built, reliable, kinda decent on gas and a lot more fun to drive than almost anything else in its class. I'll also say that I love the hood scoop on the 2nd gen Mazdaspeed 3. Opinions may vary

it's funny... one of the worst cars I have ever had the misfortune to drive was a mazda. and those 'shitty _______' were damn good cars considering who bought them and what they were subjected to.

I drove a few rental cars last year. One was a brand new Malibu, 800 miles and the interior was falling apart and squeaking already. Granted, my '90 suburban has done this since new too, so it didn't surprise me. Got in a BRAND NEW Chrysler Town & Cuntry, put about 950 miles on it. It went from being a nice, tight car to being loose as a goose before it hit 1000 miles. Pretty much all highway miles for both cars. Interiors haven't improved in the last 50 years I don't think. Now they're just 100 times more complicated and 1000 times more expensive to repair.

Obviously you are able to know that.

7100 miles on my 2012 Cruze on northern NY roads... NO problems whatsoever. no rattles, thumps or squeezes, heater works well, radio works without effort although the main display on the dash is a little slow at -15F actually, i do have one small beef and that's the throw from 4th to 5th is a bit long... My mom has a 2011 Cruze Eco that has 14,000 miles and other than the plastic tires and their lack of grip in the snow, no problems there either and that woman AIMS for fucking potholes, crevices, midgets and speedbumps!
