Here: http://www.ctvnews...ew-level-1.1087877 Enjoy. Merry X-mas. Except you gays.
It is a truism that almost any sect, cult, or religion will legislate its creed into law if it acquires the political power to do so, and will follow it by suppressing opposition, subverting all education to seize early the minds of the young, and by killing, locking up, or driving underground all heretics. is it too much to ask for these religious fuckheads to just simply shut the fuck up for once?

Although I go to a Catholic school, I'm not Catholic because I don't believe in many Catholic ideals. One of those ideals is being led by Bozo the Clown.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.
Breaking news! The Catholic Church still has the same opinion on gay marriage! In related news, former US President Woodrow Wilson remains dead.
Just sayin.

I don't know about you, but every time a gay couple holds hands, I go into a violent fit of rage and aim my nukes at other countries. Every time a gay couple gets married, I get divorced. I'm on my 178,987th marriage. I wish the gays would stop getting married so that I can enjoy the sanctity of my marriage.

Just because we are all open minded and cool does not mean everyone else is, nor has to be. People resist because it's new. New and unheard of. Gay marriage is a new idea. A very new idea. It is not a "mainstream" thing nor is there any legal, cultural, or institutional foundation for it.

Also worth noting that Ratzinger was a member of the Hitler Youth. If you were a youth in Nazi Germany you joined the Hitler Youth or they came for your family in the middle of the night.

True! Technically, the idea of marrying for love is a relatively modern concept, as well. I just like poking fun at the (seemingly) trivial reasons why certain faiths oppose it. Especially since (my understanding) is that the gay community at large isn't demanding catholic priests to marry them. Most of them seem to want the legal benefits of marriage that are completely independent of the church and beyond their jurisdiction (e.g., tax breaks, healthcare plans, ect.)

The govenment should be in the business of CONTRACTS, not marriage. If you, me Kubla, and Sam want to form a contract for a 4-way marriage? The Government and its courts should make sure we stick to our word. Contracts. As long as humans have been alive, gays have not married. It's a newer idea and social construct than the cell phone. New isn't bad, it's just different. It's not fair to scorn people for not embracing a radically new idea.

People fly now. They didn't do that for a long time either.

As I pointed out earlier, the idea of marrying for "love" is still a relatively new idea. So is miscegenation. I personally feel like the legal/contractual elements should be distinct from the more symbolic/religious elements of marriage, although I think that's what you're getting at? That's a very logical way to solve the problem. While I can't necessary scorn them, I can definitely poke fun at their equivocal reasoning. Accusing the gays of comprising world peace-- really? can't they think of a better excuse?

Marriage is a legal contract. And many Native American tribes recognized same-sex couplings, and there is evidence that they were recognized in pre-historic Britain as well.
“We are not going to have the kind of cooperation we need if everyone insists on their own narrow version of reality. … the great divide in the world today … is between people who have the courage to listen and those who are convinced that they already know it all.” -Madeline Albright
I disagree. I'm a native American and do the perfunctory tribal stuff. Homosexuality is not widely accepted ... just because some tribes have come out and made statements in support, that doesn't mean most members are for it. Most are conflicted about it. There is no consensus. Just like the rest of America. So? Pre-historic Britains may have recognized such social arrangements? For the majority of human history, such behavior has been considered taboo. Asking everyone to make it un-taboo and normal inside a decade is a tall order. Change takes generations. Everyone be patient.
