VW Beetle R-Line Cabriolet

Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
VW finally unveiled the new topless version of the Beetle... I like it. Available with a 2.5 inline 5, a 2.0 turbo, and FINALLY... a 2.0 TDI.

I'd definitely rock a black 2.0T with a 6 speed.

And... an R-Line version.

So yeah. Now I need a hardtop one AND a convertible.

it isnt nearly as disgusting as a PT Cruiser....I wouldnt group this into the same category as that steaming pile of shit :\

Looks pretty fresh....Wish they'd have turbo'd the 2.5 instead of always using the 2.slow

Totally different engine than the 2.slow - The 2.0T is a 20 valve monster of an engine, I don't think it shares a single part with the 2.0 8v. It just slaughters the 2.5. I don't think the 2.5 would be a huge fan of boost.

i thought the PT Cruiser convertible was kind of neat and convertibles are kind of a staple of Chrysler.

I think we might have to trade in our '03. I am disappointed, though, that they don't have more interesting colors available.

I can't say i'm even mildly attracted to this, It just feels to factory, built to sell, no real passion or emotion in it. Plus it makes the beetle look even more like a vally girls car, No offence Bandi!

Omg yes! Finally a new turbo beetle without a 5 cylinder. And it's damn sexy. New favorite new car perhaps.

Oh the 2.0T Bug has been out since last november... total blast to drive. You can get close to 300 hp out of them with a decent intake, aftermarket exhaust and some programming.

So I suppose I'll be the first, but that picture is shitty. They failed with edge lighting on the hood, and left the backdrop supports in the shot.

I mean how hard is the car on a generic background shot?

I want to like this, but without a big goofy looking awkward tumor on the back with the top down (and that "bump" isn't awkward enough) it doesn't scream beetle convertible to me.

It's quite hard to make a Vw look good apparently.
