i just noticed... your speedo is mph, but your coolant temp gage is in Celsius.

Damn!

The car was sold in England, so coolant was in Fahrengrade and the speedmeter in MPH. I am converting back to real measurements, and need to source the proper speedmeter. As its largely cosmetic, I've been spending money on other things. It will however be converted one day. After rear shocks, carb overhaul, etc... Well spotted.

Old above, slowly cleaning up, so present state below. Neko.

The tanks are neat, but limited in drivability I would suggest! Winner to date:

Chasing that R35 I did indeed see 8500 rpm too... Out with friends last Wednesday:

Neko.

I dunno. I think you might be winning now.

It is! It was F, but now it is C. Like the speedmeter, is MPH, will be KMH one day. Range numbers are also different, and while we are at it, the guy who remade / screened my old one uses new Toyota guts & sender so there's a greater range in operating temp and accuracy too. The F was non-functioning, so needed replacing anyway... Neko.

I have a toy. My 2005 Corolla.

I'm just going to go sit in the corner and admire the toys some of you have and dream of actually having money to allow me to acquire other toys.

Haha, may as well redirect me there!

That said, I'm still committed to hunting down a donor 5-speed transmission (and all the necessary parts) and swapping it in the near future. Would have liked to have gone with the 6-speed but they don't play nice with the 1ZZ-FE engine and also seem to eat gears 2 and 3 like nobody's business, and as my DD it still has to be reliable.

I see the odd one sitting behind repair shops and small businesses, completely rusted to hell, but with a snow plow attached to the front.

I want to someday take a Chief Cherokee, drop in an Cummins 4BT along with an Chrysler A727 tranny with a NP208 transfer case to make a neat 4x4.

Most of my toys are really old, and only have two wheels...... On the plus side, they're cheap to play with.

I'll avoid making sewing machine jokes, as vintage dirt bikes are the coolest of cool. There's a parts shop in Yokohama that has heaps, including a few of those Harley things. Gorgeous! Neko.

I bought a lawn mower just because it was made by them, thought it would be as good as the cycles......... Wrong.

As for Harley...... They made a very capable MX bike for a short time, very collectable these days.
