Vancouver Island meet
< on 11/9/2012 5:26 PM >
Posted on Forum: UER ForumQuote
Inspired by PorkRenegade's recent post for meeting up on the lower mainland, does anyone on the island want to meet up? Would love to meet some more folks on here in person.

As discussed, this is a duplicate thread so I can make it publicly viewable.

I am more than willing to let a more veteran UER' handle setting this up if someone wants to take the lead. Otherwise, I'll start things off by saying...

Are you interested?
Where abouts on the island are you?
What days/times work best? (weekends, evenings, etc)

I am open to meeting where-ever, but a cool, somewhat quiet location like the Macaulay Point Defense Facility or the E&N Russell Roundhouse in Esquimalt, Tillicum Lodge near the university, Pioneer Square downtown Vic, Deertrail resort in Sooke... such an endless list

A

YAYY here we go I've tried to make a thread like this in the past but i am a very busy person at times and didn't have time to keep it up,

I'm down in Victoria Esquimalt to be exact. i would love to meet up with some new or old explorers. I've met a handful of full members in the area and it would be great to spark some new minds.

As a meeting place somewhere central is best probably closer to downtown
round house is a good option but i'm not sure what security is like there right now i was asked to leave the last time i walked threw there, a coffee shop would be nice as its getting a bit colder out. i've also run into problems with this where myself and the people i was meeting sat pretty much next to each other with out knowing it.

being the primary problem/question What to explore?¿?

we have tunnels/drains to go in i Dont know of entrances around the city for all most locations

We have a few cranes that can be climbed (1 good one)
and a couple buildings that than be climbed (climbed 13 story's on Halloween)
we have a military artillery installation that i've been playing around since i was a little kid ( depends how i feel upon meeting group)

as abandonment's in the city my favorite which i never made it to is undergoing work ( the janion )
and the rest of pretty much been sealed off or demolished.

with all that there are some old abandon foundations and things left around like haunted mentioned about deer trails

i've found a few odd abandonment driving around the island on my monthly adventures but its more rural exploration

i have a few tips and secrets i've picked up in the years of exploring and searching of the city things i will never post but may show on a trip one day ;) i've seen things ppl could only imagine in this city

Haunted ill help you out with the organizing and setting up of this

NOW come on UER lest explore Victoria

Tac, I know of the military installment you speak of. We should discuss further privately.

What day of the week is good for you guys? My availability during the day is usually limited to weekends and every 2nd Friday, and not when I have the little one by myself.

Other than that any evening should be able to work it out. I guess it depends on if we want to just meet up and greet or if we want to actually go somewhere.

So busy changing my life, I haven't had a lot of time. I'm still here, and will try to pay attention. I would like to meet you folks! SO CLOSE to the butter church, I can even see it when the tide is right!

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

So where about were you thinking of meeting? There are at least 4 military installments I can think of. Albeit a few of them are on the same patch of DND property... (pm me with a hint maybe?) And what time?

Let's meet at Pioneer Square downtown Vic. If the weather is terrible, there's a lot around where we can go inside and sit have a coffee/beer/whatever. It's also a good location with lots around it not too far away.

So...

Location: The Old Buying Ground, Pioneer Square
Date: Sat Dec 15th, 7:30pm

How does this sound?

Damn, the weather wouldn't let up, and I'm stuck on my boat..bobbing around like a cork. I did make plans to go. One fish boat sank, and a sailboat went aground here in Ganges today. Helped free the full keel sailboat, no problems.
