I hate silver cars with a passion, and mine is silver sadly. I managed to store a sick price on a couple of gallons of plastidip and decided to give the product a try. This is what happened... I also disassembled my headlights and blacked out some of the chrome
Final result, still needs some trimming of overspray
Over all Im very happy with the results, the finish has a slight texture to it, so next time I would use a higher quality gun or maybe even a proper painting gun. Would do again, just finished doing my friends jetta as well. Inb4 hate

No hate from me. I'm refinishing a set of wheels for my Honda with it. I've considered it for painting my Jeep, since I want to have it look decent and have a finish that's not so easily screwed up as paint. Bedliner just doesn't look good, IMO.

I have to admit, I'm digging the matte black finish with the reflections in the windows.

hi i like cars |

Unsure about the entire car (though I like the Audi better than the Vdub), but three in our fleet got the Plasti-Dipped wheel treatment. It started with our Audi, which had such scuffed-up rims, ANYTHING would have looked better. Then we did others just for fun, because if you get bored with it, it peels right off. Also did the Audi's grille, since it had a few bites take out of the metal. (Previous owner did a number on that car, body-wise)
Our one Escort has the wheels dipped, and our Volvo is next up to get it(until we find better wheels for it). Right now it has the grille partially dipped. It may also get some dip on the hood for the Storm Trooper look. Not sure yet. I'll have to get more pictures up, and maybe get a group shot of all our friends' cars with Dipped wheels.
dsankt: In fact, the day I die yall are welcome to form an orderly queue and run a train on my eye sockets. I'll be dead and frankly, will not give a f*ck. budda: That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Fuck me sideways this is insane. ~~~~~~ Because it's Cincinnati |

i guess i am showing my age... i prefer a car with glossy paint that gleams in direct sun. i've got to pass on the plastidipped thing, but if its your thing, rock on little homie.

This is the first I'm hearing of this, and I love it. The Audi looks great man.
Won't you help me, Mr. Jesus, Won't you tell me, if you can When you see this world we live in, Do you still believe in man? |

Yes, it certainly does look like sick.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

i guess im showing my age too, i remember as a teen getting excited when fichault pontiac buick would get the new paint chips in for the new years cars. boy things have changed, people want matte paint jobs and fichault is selling kias. I hope that one day paint with a real deep flake makes a comeback, somthing like the gold you would find on a 78 phoenix or an 81 chevy gaucho van.

matte finishes were huge about ten years ago in the minitruck scene. Certain vehicles pull it off very well, and some dont. it also really depends on colour choice.

Plastidip works on some vehicles; but if you put it on every car you own, you are Mr. Douchey Douchington.
