I recently came across a polaroid land camera 600.

Do these things take batteries? It has a used file cartridge in it. I want to get some film and see if it works. It looks almost new (besides dust) and it in a ratty box.

any advice?

You will want any of the Impossible films for 600 cameras; the battery is in the film pack. Good luck!

I'm seeing some inspiring work here! I know almost nothing about polaroids but these happened out of luck I think.

This is the film you'll want. https://shop.the-i....com/shop/film/600 yes it's pricy, but get yourself 2-3 packs.

When you get it, put the first pack into the camera, if it ejects the black card, that's good, then go and take a shot, works excellent....if it doesn't just take the camera and black card into a light tight space, turn out the lights remove the film pack and reinsert the black card and go find another camera.

Another thing that could happen is the camera will just spit out all eight shots at once.

Another option if you fancy a 4 hour drive is visit the Impossible Project Space at 425 Broadway, New York, NY. They may even look over your camera for ya!

They closed their NYC Space at the end of March but supposedly they will be relocating soon.

I pass their place almost every week but I have never stopped in. I guess I missed my opportunity.

^They did earlier this year, unfortunately. I stocked up, big-time - that stuff was great.

Fortunately, New55 was successfully funded, so a new 4x5 instant peel-apart film should be out next year.

Anyone have any recommendations for scanners, which will work with MAC OS? Something somewhat inexpensive preferably.
