Nice new images Talisman, you went to the right place for solitude. I like 7, 8 and 12 the best.

Cheers D. I was playing around with my in-camera selective color editing for the first time. I think they turned out ok..

Nice ones, Talisman. You're reminding me that I've gotta go back to Ord sometime soon.

Thanks Dtew. Hope you guys can make it down here again soon. Walking on those squishy, creaky floors and seeing some of the additional decay made me realize that this place may not be safe to poke around a few years from now.

One more.. Not sure if this was on lonely street, but this was the best shot I could get without chopping through the mass of tangled growth blocking the way. 1.

Nice photos! I would have messed with the scrappers some though. I need to get out there again also. I still think of the awesome day we all had there.
Just celebrated the birth of my third girl, an exploration all in its self. |

Cheers Droopeye! Yeah, that was a great day with a good bunch of people. Even the gray skies and the afternoon drizzle couldn't put a damper on that one.

Posted by TalismanI wonder if they've seen the building with the upper level totally collapsed?
|
It's easy to find via Google. It's the one with the holes in the roof.

I STILL haven't processed my photos from that trip. I need a personal assistant....preferably one that doesn't meow and take naps on my film scanner.

I think this is the one with the caved-in 2nd floor. http://goo.gl/maps/qAYaU

Classic fire department ventilation practice. Then the water came in and pooled up and the rest is history. Nice photo!

My fat ass was so scared of that place. I waited outside while the majority went in.

I had the same feeling when I looked in there from the ground floor the other day. It appeared much worse than it looks in Dtew's photo. I'm surprised the fire dept. haven't demo'd that one yet.

Took a ride over to the East side Sunday morning. Wasn't really planning on entering any poorly lit buildings so I didn't really prepare for that except for a flashlight I took with me. Some of these pics aren't very good to say the least but I chose to post them anyway. I was distracted by this place on my way over there. The gate was unlocked so I took a peek inside. 1.
2.
Mostly just a bunch of empty rooms, but this heavy steel door had a combination lock on it..a stethoscope may have come in handy here. Iphone shot, sorry. 3.
..more to come...

A safe! Nice find!

Unfortunately I didn't get to see behind the steel door. Another day..maybe. Continued East and stopped for a breather at one of the firing ranges. 1.

3.
Nature is slowly reclaiming this structure..awesome!
Headed over to East Garrison, stashed the bike in the trees and walked the fence until there was no fence. All seemed quiet, so in I went... 4.
5.
6.
7. The dog kennels
8. Inside the kennels Read a ghost story about this place somewhere. Being here alone was a bit spooky, especially with the wind blowing outside causing the shutters to bang & creak. Didn't hear any dogs howling though. Headed over to the movie theater...
9. Took this one from across the road, crouched down behind a bush. Still wasn't sure about the security situation here and didn't wanna get caught out in the open.
10. Already feeling a bit jumpy about being out here, had the shit scared out of me a couple of times by pidgeons flying out of the rafters.
If you decide to go in here be careful if you go up the stairs to the projector room. The floor at the top of the stairs is rotten..and non-existent in a couple of spots. Until next time...
